Purpose of Role
The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences that support the academic, social, and emotional development of students. This includes planning and implementing engaging lessons, assessing student progress, maintaining effective classroom management, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues, school leadership, and parents to ensure that every student reaches their full potential in line with the school’s vision and curriculum standards.

Teacher – Key Responsibilities
- Interact on a professional level with colleagues, establish and maintain productive relationships with them to promote mutual understanding of the school curriculum with the aim of continually improving the quality of teaching and learning in the school
- Deliver the highest standards of education in the teacher’s areas of expertise, qualifications and skills
- Uphold through instruction and example, the highest moral and ethical values including truth, equal opportunity, humanity and respect
- Teach the students assigned to him/her in a consistently effective and varied manner, according to their educational needs and plan for differentiation considering learning styles and identified strengths and/or weaknesses
- Ensure regular, consistent and lucid planning and preparation of lessons according to the school’s guidelines
- Encourage students to achieve beyond levels of expectation
- Consistently motivate students through excellent and varied methods of delivery and strong interpersonal skills
- Actively promote and facilitate both independent and life-long learning
- Facilitate the development of cross-curricular and transferable skills
- To enrich the curriculum through a range of learning opportunities within and beyond the classroom
- Providing guidance and advice to students where needed
- Maintain a well-ordered and stimulating classroom environment
- Control, monitor and oversee the use and storage of books, equipment or any other materials provided for class usage
- Report on student progress as required
- Cooperate with the Year Leader, Head of Department, the Leadership Team and other colleagues in preparing and developing courses of study
- Assess and report on students in preparation for external assessments
- Prepare, mark and record the results of internal assessments according to fair allocations devised by the Head of Department and completed within the designated time frame
- Identify and devise personal development targets that are in line with the school’s aims and objectives
- Monitor, review and where necessary, modify methods of teaching and programmes of work
- Be aware of current developments within the specific subject area(s) and on a whole school basis and develop one’s own pedagogical practice
Line management
The teacher will report to the Head of Primary.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Appropriate Degree and teaching qualification e.g. Bachelor’s Degree with teaching qualification, PGDT/Diploma in Education OR relevant degree.
Experience and Skills:
- At least two (2) years of teaching experience in teaching the relevant subject in International or National syllabus.
- Strong commitment and passion for education and concern for students’ welfare.
- PC literate and able to use multimedia resources in the classroom.
- Highly motivated, full of initiative, disciplined, and responsible.
- Strong commitment and passion for education
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
